Are you interested in discovering the habits of Edgewood’s wildlife? Become a camera trap reviewer or field volunteer today. Find the most meaningful and informative images from Edgewood’s camera traps and share stories of our wildlife with others.
Camera Trap Reviewers are:
- Very familiar with digital cameras and computers
OR very knowledgeable about local wildlife species - Comfortable with email
- Able to pay close attention to visual detail
- Able to use their own personal computer to temporarily store 32GB of image data
- Taught to use applicable software
- Able to commit 6 hours per month for one year
Or are you tough enough to venture off trail and set up camera traps? Camera trap field volunteers are trained by Friends of Edgewood.
Field Volunteers are:
- Very familiar with digital cameras and computers
- Comfortable with email
- Able to commit 4 hours per month for one year
- Willing and able to go off trail and faces hazards such as poison oak, ticks, and allergens
- Happy to team up in small groups and use camera traps to document wildlife around Edgewood
- Willing to sign Hold Harmless Agreement with San Mateo County Parks
